Returning to Spirit

Returning to Spirit© (RTS) is a non-profit organization that designs and delivers workshops for reconciliation of the Indian Residential School legacy. These workshops are not restricted to persons who attended Residential Schools, nor to those who have worked in Residential Schools, or who work with Aboriginal people, or who work for the Church. They are for any individual willing to explore new possibilities for the future. All of society, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people alike, are affected by this legacy and so can greatly benefit from the Returning to Spirit workshops which provide conditions for transformation in personal, family, community, and organizational life.

Returning to Spirit has been translated in French (Retour à l’esprit - RAE) and a French pilot workshop was offered for the first time in Saint Boniface in the Fall of 2013.

Past Event

From February 14 - 18, 2015  the 'reconciliACTION group' from Université de Saint-Boniface participated in a Returning to Spirit, 5-day Reconciliation Workshop.  Many First Nations communities, for example people from Hollow Water First Nations (Manitoba) and Tla-o-quiaht (Tofino, BC) as well as other people from Quebec and Ontario came together for this workshop. This was an opportunity of personal growth, dialogue, healing and unity for everyone.
