In the cold depths of winter, a warm gift
Since 2009, the Knights of Columbus in Canada and the United States have donated nearly 785,000 new winter coats to children in impoverished families through their Coats for Kids program. This winter, sixteen Manitoba parish councils of the Catholic fraternal organization donated 768 parkas, including in the Point Douglas area of Winnipeg and at the Northlands Denesuline First Nation in Pike Lake. For the Knights of the Precious Blood and Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens parishes, the coat donations were made at the local level, in nearby Norwood and Windsor Park.
