Social Justice - The Jubilee Fund

The Jubilee Fund - Ethical Investing in Manitoba

The Jubilee Fund was launched in the year 2000 as a Winnipeg-based expression of the millennium celebration for debt relief.

It is an interfaith fund inspired by the Hebrew Scriptures that call for periodic redistribution of wealth and debt cancellation.

The Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface is a member of the Fund, and as such has a volunteer sitting on the Jubilee Fund Board.

Currently, our representative is Pierre Sebakwiye of the Saint Boniface Cathedral Parish.

The Jubilee Fund is a non-profit lender that finances organizations and individuals that do not qualify for traditional financing. The Mission of the Jubilee Fund is to finance projects that have a social impact in Manitoba.

The Jubilee Fund values:

- local ownership

- community ownership

- democratic ownership

- cooperative ownership

- economic participation by women

- economic participation by Indigenous people

- economic participation by newcomers to Canada

- organic, equitable and sustainable business practices.
