Dear faithful of the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface,
Our diocese has received many blessings over the recent years. One of them is that since 2017, we’ve had nine priestly ordinations. Four of the young priests were born in Canada.
Five have come to us from abroad. They all answered God’s call to serve the faithful of our diocese. The fruits have been both tangible and inspiring. In urban parishes as well as in rural areas, these young men have brought a dedication and dynamism that has greatly contributed to the life of Church in our archdiocese.
The parishes they serve are alive and well. For young families, teens and young adults, as well as seniors and the elderly, their presence is a source of hope. Our young priests open up for us the Word of God, they offer us the Eucharist and as well as the whole of our sacramental life. They bring us to grow in intimate union with Jesus and in communion with one another. They visit the elderly, work for youth, collaborate with the faithful on parish committees. Accompanied by such
shepherds, our faithful are encouraged and inspired to commit themselves to the Church and to our parish communities. All of us, both fellow clergy and lay people, can thus enter with a deeper faith out into in the world we are all called to serve by our baptism.
Our blessings continue! This year, we will have five seminarians, from Congo and Vietnam, who have come from other parts of the world to train in Canada and, ultimately, be ordained for and
to serve in the Archdiocese of St. Boniface. This is indeed good news, and a powerful witness to Christ’s presence and work in today’s world. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, continues to call, to
guide, and to move us to embrace our diverse responses to our common baptismal vocation.
The Good Shepherd Campaign provides the financial support needed for all this, by helping seminarians in their studies and assisting priests in their ongoing formation. All with the goal of
supporting and sustaining the whole life of the Church.
I ask you, dear faithful, to give generously to the Good Shepherd Campaign.
